This body of work was created in 2012 during my time in Nigeria. I was struck by this notion of African coolness as a societal norm and expectation. It is present in gestures, religious practices, attitudes, music, dance and, clothing. This work strives to uncover the extraordinary story of change and survival of coolness and of a people.
