"Image Dis" 1996-1997 examines the way women, particularly black women, are portrayed in the media.
This work consist of portraits of various black women with chicken wire sculptures displayed on them or with them. Individually they were asked to think about how they were being represented in the media and to create a shape that depicted this idea.
The photographs were an exercise in self imaging and re-imaging.
