Orisha

I resent the fact that I am constantly being  propelled to fight for  basic human rights, while others have the privilege to fully pursue their life without limitation of something as loathsome as racism.

This new work in progress is an acknowledgement of the divinity within all people but particularly African women. An attempt to elevate us out of the low vibration of the struggle imposed upon us. To break the shackles of perceptions, presumptions and, stereotypes bestowed on us. This is a homage to them as much as it is to me. A praise and hallelujah to the Goddess within.

Orisha: An orisha (spelled òrìṣà in the Yoruba language, orichá or orixá in Latin America) is a spirit that reflects one of the manifestations of the Supreme Divinity (Eledumare, Olorun, Olofi) in Yoruba religion.
