My concern with the growing rate in witch black men were being incarcerated and the increase of black violence in the black community propelled me to create this wildly exhibited body of work.
I photographed young black men and effected the prints to appear like gun shot wounds. The finish affect is raw and jarring. It questions the notion of victim vs the victimised, the effects of racialization and, the proliferation of a modern day Jim Crow ideology.
